wow!

illustration mundo just posted this japanese illustrator tadahiro uesugi and im kinda blow away. it combines that old school illustration feel but with a touch of contemporary http://www10.big.or.jp/~tuesugi/
that being said there is also a couple of my piers who has been blowing me away with their work i think you should all check out. it always good to have these types of people near you so you can feel like crap about your own work and to make push harder.

the first is keat teoh. somehow he is able to make every line he puts down with a feeling of total confidence. his site is keatt.com

the second is rose tanghal. recently the rhythm and shapes in her work are just sooo good. www.rosetanghal.com

the third is robert blake. another guy whos just able to slap down a line like he owns it. fearless color palette too. http://www.notrobertblake.com/

i love these guys and you should too for reasons you'll know once you see their work

colored soldier

this is a colored version of the drawing below. i imbued a concept in the image after i created it which doesn't really work but i want to push it further. that heros who become stories turn into objects they flatten out rather then stay what they are, or original were.

hey everyone i added a new drawings section to my website. its basically doodles and sketchbook images that i did in various classes and at home. for anyone just entering college both teachers Joo Chung and Sam Weber taught me to abandon the precious feeling you have when drawing in a sketchbook. its one of the great places to experiment and you should feel free when working in it. but this doesnt mean you shouldn't put alot of effort into it. as Joo Chung would say you need rigor.
